Designing good DnD character tokens can provide a visual representation for those playing at a table: whether they are playing as heroes, their allies, or adversaries. Not only do these tokens provide a way to track character placement and movement on other figures during an encounter (making it easier to manage the encounter), they also allow for an interactive way to experience the encounter without wasting much time making decisions because of the visibility/recognizability of the tokens being used. When creating the table layout for an encounter with lots going on, there is often a lot of confusion regarding character placement and movement; establishing consistent size and visible readability will help alleviate the confusion.
